Stealing Democracy

                                        Today's Orlando Sentinel - Regarding the Theft of Democracy 

     I haven't written to the local "bugle" the Orlando Sentinel in a while, but they printed this comic strip causing a new blog to be born in my brain and perhaps a published letter on their Opinions page.   I do appreciate that the Orlando Sentinel often prints my conservative leaning letters so I give them accolades for at least allowing other opinions.  

       So here's the letter I will write to them regarding this comic panel- and then I'd like to elaborate a bit more on who's really stealing our Democracy- perhaps tomorrow or maybe today- I don't know I'm running late again this morning.   

Dear Editor-  I reviewed your comic panel on the opinions page with interest as it revealed the dangers of losing our Democracy to billionaires.  I'm trying to draw up examples of billionaires stealing a Democracy in history but am falling short.  I can, however give you many examples of Democracies being stolen by government- in fact that's the only way a Democracy can be stolen.  Review all tyrants in history- from Stalin to Hitler to Mussolini to Tojo to Castro.  From the Communists to Nazis to Kings and Queens- Democracy is not stolen by billionaires it's stolen by the government.  The group looking to limit government intrusion into the individual's life is the true defendant of Democracy.  If you want more control, to seize guns,  more taxes, more limits on free speech or limits on religious activity, fewer freedoms and you're in government- you, sir or madam are the tyrant that is "stealing Democracy".  

    If they print my letter I will advise the reader in this blog. 

UPDATE:  Okay, so they did not print this letter but they printed another letter that I felt compelled to write them but really didn't expect them to print---- and they did !  I will post that letter this coming week.

USAID Criticism by "An American Voice" Published in the Orlando Sentinel

Dear loyal readers-- My words flowed from the local newspaper again-  the Orlando Sentinel- which is always appreciated.  I was especially surprised they printed my pointed criticism of them, which does say a lot for them,  that at least they don't deny their laziness.   I wonder though if they also get massive "subscriptions" from Washington, DC to keep them in line with what's coming out of the Democrats' mouths ?   They are, after all, owned by the Chicago Tribune which in itself is very liberal.   As you all know by now the media has been subsidized by you and me as DOGE has revealed in their audit of this organization- USAID !  As if the entire mess of government isn't already infuriating, now we know the propaganda broadcasted by Politico,  the New York Times, and the Associated Press have all been shown to be subsidized by our tax money through this group.  All USAID's other highly dubious contributions aside, this alone is outrageous.  As we learn more and more it's becoming obvious that this looks more like money laundering than any sort of actual funding organization.  A trans opera in Columbia ?  A trans comic book in Chile ?  Can I see the comic book and the receipts for its cost ?  It sounds made up to me, and now you have to wonder where did that money land ?   As my letter implies, it looks like we are discovering why so many Congressmen are now very wealthy after they settle into Washington, DC and learn where to go to get their "pig rations".

Protecting and Caring for the Innocent

Dear Readers--  sorry it has been so long, I took a break from paying any attention to the news for my own health and sanity but of course, that can't last forever.  All vacations must end.  I opened the local newspaper "The Orlando Sentinel" and it only took about 5 minutes for me to start fuming again.  Back in the saddle !  So, of course, I wrote a letter and they continue to flatter me by printing the majority of my letters.  

     My thoughts elaborating on protecting our children may wind up being  a short series for Marshall in the Middle.  Let's just say that I don't hold back when I see children being manipulated and used by the "powers that be" for their own pleasure and/or profit.  That is never okay and there are few things that "grind my gears" as much as such a thing.

Chuck Marshall's Humble Opinion in the Orlando Sentinel Again

     They like me, they really like me !    I enjoy writing my opinion so much, I think it goes without saying pontificating for a living would be my dream job !   Today's published rambling was in regards to a column by a columnist from the Washington Post (or it might have been the New York Times... same difference !)   Anyway, it feels good to have your 2 cents out there, even if you don't actually even get 2 cents.
