No Kings Protest: It's all about control

 By CE Marshall

King George III - A real king, a real tyrant

From work to politics- the "wrench in the works" of a prosperous society is the need for one person or a small group of people to control another group of people.  I cannot relate to this peculiar obsession but I'm understanding as I get older that it's at the core of what makes a tyrant or even a bad boss.  The leader of any situation in which he or she wants to control everyone is at the heart of tyranny.

In the media you also see a form of control, but much to their alarm, that control seems to be slipping through their fingers.  People who read and take a few moments to understand a given situation and then think for themselves will see things for what they are.  The media once had full control over what the public saw and then would use that power to "spoon feed" the narrative they wanted.  It worked for many years.  One could say it's been working since the Kennedy presidency when his murder was covered up and muddled by our government with the help of the media utilizing conspiracy theories and inuendo to prevent the truth from being known.   X and other social media platforms have removed "control" from the media and given more to the individual.  "You are the media now" is one of Elon Musk's favorite tag lines and I think he's correct.  It really doesn't take that long to understand a situation if you try thinking for yourself and asking questions.  The "No Kings" protests of this past weekend with all its angst and pronounced worries that we are losing our Democracy is an obvious "straw man" whereby they (and by "they" I mean the "Silent Tyrants" of our society.  The ruling elite.) create a boogeyman that doesn't exist and then orchestrate protests against that boogeyman.  This works on a lot of people from the ditch diggers to college professors suffering from "Trump Derangement Syndrome" so it's not hard to fill the streets with rabid lunatics.  What's missing is any explanation as to what they protest about.  During all conversations in the street with the old hippies and the blue haired girls a clear explanation was completely missing.  Not once did I hear a reasonable, coherent answer to the question "What are you protesting?" or "In what way has Trump behaved as a King or tyrant?".  It was like they were protesting just to protest- like window shopping or strolling through a park.  A stroll of sanctimonious screeching old fools and malcontents that cannot accept the consequences of an election they lost.

I will tell you what they were protesting, though.  They were protesting their inability to control the narrative of public policy through full control of the media and news.  The left has had this luxury for a long time, and it is slipping away very quickly.  They have no alternative but violence and feigned outrage over nothing.  May this be the beginning of the end for them and the beginning of the rights of mankind as individuals in society being given the respect and dignity they deserve.

The No Kings protesters need not demand the head of the king and an end to the tyranny they've imagined.   The Tyrant is right under their nose.  It is them.

The Age of Incompetence - Election 2018

Election 2018 - Some Should Stay Home

By Chuck Marshall

For the longest time I've marveled at how much people are encouraged to vote.  "Get out and vote" is the rally cry for both political parties because they know how important it is to their success.  I use to see these ads of encouragement as a fine thing getting people to exercise their right.  Everyone is entitled  to vote and should vote, no matter  what.  Right ?  Well, as I ponder our incompetent government- which has been  elected by the people for generations- I can't help but wonder if that's part of the problem.  Ignorant people are voting.  You see,  if you don't know what you're talking about or understand how the government works then you shouldn't vote.  All you're doing is muddying the waters and encouraging the outrageous lunacy we've witnessed this past few years.

Political candidates know this and so they promise everything under the sun.  That goes especially for their base of "mouth breathing" extremists.  I marvel at how much presidential candidates blather on about "what they're going to do" but none of the media calls them out, ie, "how will you get that done if  Congress is controlled by the opposite party"?  Details, details.

I watch as reporters ask "people on the street" questions as simple as "who was President during the American Civil War?" and they get it wrong.  These are the creatures voting for the morons that run our government and spend our money.   I don't mean to discourage voting for any specific group of people except the idiots.   You, idiot,  are the very reason nothing gets done by our leaders and our nation is $21 Trillion in debt !   Twenty one Trillion dollars and counting because we keep electing  political parties that have no intention of fixing anything.  When they're not in power they have the nerve to bring up the national deficit as if the issue is suddenly important to them !    If you don't know basic history, basic civics and the basics of the problems our country faces  then don't vote, stay home, and get high.   That is the first step to stepping past this "Age of Incompetence" we suffer through.  Do it for your country !

The Age Of Incompetence; Russian Policy

By Chuck Marshall

(This article takes under two minutes to read)

Our "Age of Incompetence" has had some fascinating stories, however the hysteria over Russia and Trump's clumsy approach to working with our never-ending adversary was one for the books.   The core of the hysteria is that Trump commented that he believed Putin over our 19 secret service agencies regarding Russia tampering with our elections.  After all, the secret service has never been wrong about anything.  Except perhaps the Weapons of Mass Destruction which I guess all  19 of our secret service agencies were  "sure" were being hidden in Iraq.  This "assurance" from all 19 secret service agencies sent us into an invasion of Iraq that would end up costing  thousands of American  lives and costing our country several Trillion dollars.  Did Iraq have weapons of mass destruction ?  No.  How could that be, they're never wrong?   Anyway, Trump walked back his comments.  Probably because now there are 19 secret service agencies that have a bone to pick with him.  At the end of it all, much of the media is still trembling over the whole thing because they're so convinced Trump colludes with Russians and now, here we have evidence because he met with Putin and was nice to him !

So ridiculous I just had to write a letter to the paper about all this, and once again the Orlando Sentinel indulged me by printing this rambling letter.   The ending ran into another letter so  I finish the last sentence by typing it in below.  I think more people should write,  people gotta speak up !   Thanks Orlando Sentinel !

Government Shutdown Should Cause "Formidable Outcry"

By Chuck Marshall

                                                                         Thomas Paine

I love this quote from Thomas Paine;  "A long habit of not thinking a thing wrong, gives it a superficial appearance of being right".  He was referring to the King of England, however I think today it applies to the two- party system that we suffer for today. This government shutdown (the most current one, there have now been several) is because of their "never-ending" story of childish and greedy posturing.   The  Democrats and Republicans refuse to "cut a deal" with the other.  This refusal to compromise holds all of us hostage.   It is a childish and obstructionist tactic used by each party to try and stall the current party in power.  Why do we allow our government to be run by these two groups of incompetents ?  The Independents are nearly 40% of all voters!  Libertarians also hold a significant share of voter registrations.  How can these two old fashioned groups of malcontents be allowed to rule unchecked when so many of us are not even a part of their show ?!

     The full quote from Thomas Paine is actually the very first paragraph of the Introduction in his historic book "Common Sense" which changed the tide of history in favor of American Independence.  The full quote goes as follows;

"Perhaps the sentiments contained in the following pages, are not yet sufficiently fashionable to procure them general  favor;  a long habit of thinking a thing wrong, gives it a superficial appearance of being right, and raises at first a formidable outcry in deference of custom.  But the tumult soon subsides.  Time makes more converts than reason.

Perhaps there needs to be a proposal, an effort to move us away from this insanity regardless of the "formidable outcry in deference of custom".  We need to get past the stagnation of the two party system with an alternative that removes their monopoly on power and allows for a more effective government for the good of the people.  That is, after all, the reason they exist in the first place.  It won't be easy, but the "tumult will soon subside" and we can move forward with progress to all people not just the ruling parties.

Advice to Thinking Democrats.....

Free of charge !!

    By Chuck Marshall

I have been writing this blog for nearly 10 years.  In it I hope I have had some very small positive impact on how our country is governed.  I pride myself on working hard to write more moderate, centrist opinions but I know I don't always succeed at that.  The established parties are an enemy of the people and of liberty (at least right now)  and their political extremists are what truly enrage me.  That is why this blog is often vicious and venomous.   I frequently attack the parties for their inanity and corruption and blatant stupidity and part of me regrets how truly easy that is to do.   Currently I see the Democrats as being obstructionist beyond a reasonable level and their cozy relationship with the mainstream media (MSM) does far more damage to our country than any stupid meeting between Donald Trump's minions and the Russians- even if it DID happen.  So, my anger is more directed towards the left these days.  I know I sometimes come off as an "angry white guy" (there,a bone to chew on for liberal readers)  who is intolerant of  liberal ideas.  This is sincerely not true,  but in our times the predominant liberal thoughts have turned to labeling, categorizing, and above all else political correctness that separates us as a people.  They are unreasonable in their demands (remove statues of Columbus?  Ban "Gone with the Wind"? ) and behave like enraged children when they don't win an election.   They are self- righteous, patronizing, obsequious, condescending spoiled brats with no new ideas other than to support removing symbols of American history without public debate,  to preen their moral superiority (supposed) for us all to see,  and to present to the world their very, very low opinion of Donald Trump.

It has been mentioned many, many times that the Democrats have never had such low representation at the national and the state levels.  Why are the Democrats in such trouble ?   Perhaps all those years of riding Obama's coat tails have made them soft and mushy.  All those press conferences where their friends in the MSM were nodding their heads in agreement with all that Obama  proclaimed have made them weak and incapable of challenging questions.  Their tactic today is to stomp their feet and hang on the fact that dimwitted Hollywood loves them and that the MSM still rallies to their every point of view,  no matter how ridiculous.  Their historically low fund raising is evidence of their declining influence.  A full 90% of the public does not trust the MSM, so the Dems would be wise to distance themselves from their pets at CNN, etc...and establish some "meat and potatoes" to serve the American people for the next round of elections.  The American people are fuming at the government and the establishment and seeing millionaire celebrities cuss and crucify any ideas contrary to the leftist thought could be the poison that ends the Democratic party.  The recent MTV American music awards featured a "Fu** Donald Trump" rap song.   Yes, if you weren't aware, it's that bad.

I leave all Democrats with this final sobering thought.  The shocking success of Donald Trump may not be over any time soon.  In fact, this could be just the beginning as he seems to be swinging many candidates for Congress to his "way of thinking".  It could get much worse for you.   Get your act together and start acting like adults with real ideas for real Americans.   America needs the two political parties to discuss differing ideas like adults.  We want wisdom, compromise, and levity.  We want the success of the everyday American middle class citizen to be at the forefront of your mind.  We need leadership  not a bunch of followers chasing after mobs with a vendetta against the nearest statue.  Like a very cheap wine, it might taste good and get you liquored up with your moral preening,  but in the morning you will suffer a hangover to last for the ages.

The Age of Incompetence - 2015 Reviewed

by Chuck Marshall

 Dear devoted readers,

As we bid 2015 farewell, I'd like to review some of the more irritating stories of 2015 because that makes me feel better.  Somehow it's the ointment that soothes the swelling of my discontent.  These are in no particular order, so just see them as all equally irritating in my eyes.

Donald Trump-  I have written a couple of blogs regarding "the Donald" and I even had a letter published criticizing him to the local bugle,  "The Orlando Sentinel".  My feelings are a little more lenient as I've gotten use to his antics and I see him as less "concerning" and more as an "opportunistic egomaniac" who knows how to use the press.  He's also a smart businessman, and this is all just business to him.  As much as I don't want him to be President, I do see the appeal in his humor and his success in the business world.  We've let the lawyers and bureaucrats run the show for so long, I sincerely don't see how he could do any worse.  As for all his statements that "alarm" the press and the left.... nearly all of these are impossible for him to do - he knows it and the press knows it but it gets him attention and it gets the press "eyeballs" and that's all either of them really cares about.  If  his fans really believe he can do these things he promises then they need to crack open their 8th grade civics book.  I say that with the caveat that all politicians do the same thing, but Trump is a lot more clever about it.   He lies like all of them, but he just lies BIGGER .   Used car salesmen promise "it's the best value"  but  Donald Trump  is the only one with the nerve to promise it will also fly.

Climate Change (or whatever you want to call it) -   This is such a political "hot potato" but in my humble opinion, it should not be.  If the scientists say it's a problem then I certainly don't have the knowledge to argue with them.  Why would they lie ?  Are they all Democrats ?   And, if I might add... assuming they are correct then it's everybody's problem not just the Democrats.  The controversy really lies more in the solution than the actual problem.  The Republicans have allowed the Democrats to steal this one right from under their noses with the notion that the only way to fix it is through the government.  The conservatives need to start offering solutions to this problem and not keep trying to deny it's even a problem    Remember, this is our planet - our children and grandchildren will be the ones who pay if we don't get this right.  The right needs to get their head out of their ass and propose free enterprise solutions to a real problem.  All problems have the  highest potential to be solved from both the government and free enterprise.--that is--when both act in concert.  It's not that complicated.

ISIS/ISIL/Daesh/Nazis/ Scum -  Please can we at least come to an agreement on what to call them ?  This group of murderers is getting so much attention and often it seems there is a desire in the media to blame someone.  Was it Bush for invading Iraq ?  Was it Obama's fault for withdrawing form Iraq?  Was it Obama for not stepping in when it started looking bad in Syria several years ago ?  Is it Europe's fault for being spineless cowards in the face of such a nearby threat ?   Is it the moderate Muslims for not expressing enough outrage ?  Is it our fault for provoking extremist Muslims ?    In my humble opinion, it's all of the above but MOSTLY it's the fault of ISIS themselves.  They are the ones "doing" it after all.   Now, let's coordinate with the non-murdering world to remove these scum from power.

National Debt-  It's now nearly $19,000,000,000,000- That's Trillions.  The Demcorats?  In my mind this is the left version of "Global Warming".  They have their heads up their ass as they seem to think it's absolutely no problem - even offering all kinds of new goodies to hand out such as free college education.  It is a total outrage that this is such an ignored issue by the left.   I promise you though that they will pay attention when  our nation veers towards bankruptcy but then, as with Global Warming,  it may be too late.

The Political Parties-  Today we are looking at Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton as the most probably options for the general election.  Do I really need so say anything else regarding both groups and their total failure to the American people?
